Graduates of the MA program 1) have the skills to continue graduate work toward a PhD in a humanities, social science, or natural science discipline, 2) the training in the research methods and ideas in the discipline will also enable graduates of the MA program to enhance their work in other careers, such as law, business, health care, social work, education and counseling, and in the public sector, and 3) the MA program in Women's Studies provides the research training to improve the effectiveness of those working within not for profit organizations.

Graduate course work in the MA program in Women's Studies is also available to students whose degree programs permit them to select courses in other programs and divisions. Admission and programs of study are subject to the guidelines presented by the appropriate department or program.
