The Children’s Media minor is designed for students interested in children and the print and digital media they consume. Students have the opportunity to explore a range of industry areas in which individuals conduct research about the effects of media on children, learn to manage print and digital media platforms, and create media content for children and adolescents. The interdisciplinary curriculum combines foundational knowledge and practical skills to help students develop specialized skills in evaluating and creating print and digital content for children including books, zines, apps, and television.
Candidates for the Children’s Media minor must earn a minimum of 18 semester hours of credit, including at least 9 hours of required courses and 9 hours of electives. All undergraduate students are eligible to take the minor.
